We have been in business for over 20 years and have recently joined the Sharpshooter Group family and will add our strength and experience to theirs to make us even stronger.

Yes we are a member of the CHBA (Canadian Home Builders Association)

In most places we have trades that we have relationships with, but our mandate is to give our customers the best value so we are always looking for trades that give us better value. Value in this instance to us means trades that do quality work the first and every time.

No as a general rule. A house in progress has hazards that we do not want to expose clients to. We usually take a lot of pictures or videos that you can see.

Yes, but only with a staff member of Pride Home Improvements. Our construction insurance requires this. Another consideration to this is making sure the timing is good as to not disturb the work in progress.

We have a few firms or an in house team that we work with. Once you decide you want to work with us our team will help you put your dream house or renovation on paper

ICF stands for Insulated Concrete Forms. Concrete is poured between two pieces of dense polystyrene forms that end up becoming a permanent fixture of the building. The main reasons that ICF is better than traditional framing are the following:

  • ICF framing is stronger, which means it will last much longer than traditional framing.
  • ICF framing allows less heat to escape due to the thick insulation on either side of the concrete. In the heat it allows less heat to penetrate the walls keeping the house cooler. This means you will save money over the lifetime of the house.
  • With the changes in the Canadian Building Code, ICF is one of the best ways to cost effectively meet the ongoing stringent energy efficiency guidelines for new construction.
  • We are happy to provide you information that outlines the benefits of an ICF house.

You will be updated at a very minimum bi-weekly on your build project. At the end of this period we will send you a status update that includes what was accomplished the past two weeks, what wasn’t and why, and what is scheduled to be completed in the next two weeks. We will also set up a once a month phone or video chat for you to ask questions. Outside of this, we want to be available anytime you need us, for that reason if you have any questions at all please reach out to us. All we ask is that you give us 1 business day to respond to your questions.

Knowing your budget allows us to bid (or not bid) on your project accurately. Here is an example scenario we’ve had recently:

We had a potential client send us a set pdf plans to quote for a house that would cost over 900,000 to build. After spending two weeks quoting the project we were informed the budget was 600,000. It was not possible to build it for this amount and the client did not want to change their plans. Knowing your budget allows us to let you know before we begin whether we think it is attainable before we go into our detailed quoting process.
